According to June Carbone, coauthor of the book pictured above and a law professor at the University of Missouri, populations that marry at a later age have fewer divorces as well as fewer teen pregnancies. About the picture: I often joke that first dates, particularly in the age of online dating ( very sophisticated blind dates ) can often feel like job interviews. Author, researcher, psychologist and dating expert Christie Hartman lists questions to never ask on a first date to avoid killing the fun and to avoid being flat out inappropriate:

  1. What led up to your getting divorced?
  2. Are you looking for marriage and kids?
  3. I’m looking for a serious relationship. Are you?
  4. Why/how did your past relationships end?
  5. What are your goals in life?
  6. Why are you still single?
