I have really followed this story closely. I’ve found it to be a very good means to begin a discussion about veganism. A discussion about waste disposal and contamination can avoid the initial defensive posture so common when beginning a conversation about “animal rights.” It moves from the realm of “ethics” to prudence, which, for some, can sufficiently begin the process of questioning these practices.
Alex, that is an interesting strategy. How do you keep the conversation from veering off into the question of how to deal with the waste rather than not generating it at all?
