I’m always nervous when a guy wants to give advice to women, because what he says “guys” like is often just what HE likes. But this was pretty good, and funny as hell too.
At the level he was on, I think he was safe in that he was sticking to things most guys would like, with maybe one or two exceptions ( for example, I LOVE to talk ), but exceptions are exceptions.
Women often tell their girl-friends what will make their friends feel better, instead of what they need to hear. I also think there is a dichotomy between what women say they want and what they really want……sometimes, at least with younger and/or less introspective women.
That being said, guys can give a lot of crappy advice too.
I thought what he had to say in “rule #1” was a good point for both men and women. Does the person you are taking advice from have what you want?
“I also think there is a dichotomy between what women say they want and what they really want……sometimes, at least with younger and/or less introspective women.”
It’s true that women are brainwashed by society and it usually takes a while to figure things out, something everyone has to do at their own pace. It’s not that they don’t know what they currently want or are lying about it, but that they’ve been forced to choose between the lesser of evils, often ignorantly, as opposed to having a choice of what they would really want if it was available.
Re: the video, why follow rules and try so hard? As he says in #3: “If they have that many f****n’ issues, they’re obviously not the person for you. There’s six billion people in this world; maybe someone else is the person for you.”

He’s so right — only men can tell you how to “keep” a man. Because they’re men! Your girlfriends think like you do (check out http://katwilder.com/2010/06/why-men-give-better-advice-than-women) so don’t go there, girlfriend.
Good article Kat! I remember reading it. 🙂

Actually, as of a few weeks ago there are 7 billion people in this world.
